The Western Union Company, a leader in global payment services, has announced that self-service kiosks have opened within the Louth WH Smith store.
Along with branches in Gainsborough and Stamford, the Louth WHSmith store is amongst the first locations to launch the self-service kiosks, with Western Union planning to roll out 300 kiosks within the coming months across the UK.
The self-service kiosks are easy to use; customers simply need to enter their transaction details at the kiosk and then proceed to a WHSmith self-checkout to pay for their money transfer. The digital transaction is paperless with built-in compliance capabilities and enables efficient check-outs.
Massimiliano Alvisini, Vice President Northern Europe at Western Union, said: “I am pleased today to announce the launch of the first of our self-service kiosks in Lincolnshire.
“With over 1,300 stores and an average of almost one million people visiting a WHSmith high street store every day of the year, WHSmith is a well-established retailer to work with and launch our self-service terminals.
“We are confident that customers will appreciate the freedom to conduct their transaction at their convenience with efficiency and speed of checkout and that they will benefit highly from this collaboration.”
Ian Sanders, Group Business Development Director at WHSmith, said: “We are delighted to be working with Western Union and to be providing customers a reliable money transfer service in-store, with easy to use, self-service kiosks. The convenience of being able to shop at WHSmith and use Western Union services is a value-add for our stores.”
