Members of the the popular Horncastle Walkers Are Welcome Group have announced plans for their next country stroll.
It will be on Sunday, September 23 and will take in the Hagworthingham area.
Walkers are asked to meet at 10am.
The easy ramble, led by an experienced walker, will set off, not from the layby/bus stop at Hagworthingham, six miles east of Horncastle on the A158.
The timing will allow bus users to catch the ‘number six ‘bus from Horncastle,
There are return buses but the geroup will try to ensure lifts back to Horncastle are available.
It is a route for all ages and once again, well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
The walk will takes in a bit of ‘Tennyson Country’, including the small villages of Bag Enderby and Somersby.
The route will pass through green meadows with outstanding views across to The Wolds in the background.
The walk is about five to six miles and should take no more than three hours.
It will end back end back at Hagworthingham in suitable time for refreshments.
A spokesman for the group said: “It a chance for a drink and to possibly meet new friends.”
The walk it is one of a series of a series of short relaxing routes in keeping with the
group’s remit of promoting the Southern Wolds as an outstanding but often
undiscovered walking destination.
