A Banovallum School pupil was airlifted to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham yesterday (Thursday June 4) after a sporting accident.
The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance landed at the school at around 1.30pm yesterday.
A school spokesperson has confirmed today (June 5) that this was a precautionary measure, after a male pupil suffered a suspected spinal injury following an awkward fall during a football game. Thankfully, this did not turn out to be the case.
The spokesperson added: “We’re relieved that the boy concerned has suffered no significant injury”.
