A Tattershall dog lover and her two-year-old Border Collie Boxer cross Wizz enjoyed a day to remember at Crufts after appearing in the iconic main arena for the Scruffts final.
Wizz was one of 22,000 healthy, happy dogs at Birmingham’s NEC for the internationally-renowned event, and got to walk on the famous green carpet in front of a big crowd.
Owner Claire Stanton, 33, was one of six finalists to appear with their crossbreed dogs, having won the Prettiest Crossbreed Bitch title in a previous round of Scruffts last year.
And the High Street resident, who works as a dog trainer and kennel maid, was delighted about making an appearance at the world-famous Crufts in the West Midlands.
“Being in the main arena is a fantastic experience. We didn’t know exactly what to expect, but Wizz is fabulous and we made sure to enjoy every moment of it,” she said.
Claire and Wizz did not end up winners on the day, Friday March 6, but were up against some stiff competition and were pleased to have made it to the final.
Claire added: “I am absolutely over the moon and I am so proud of Wizz.
“I have been coming to Crufts for about 10 years, but this is the first time with a dog. It is hugely special to have her here with me – it makes it even better without a doubt.”
