Saturday evening saw the final event of the year at Tattershall Castle when the Candlelit Carol Concert was held inside the castle and Holy Trinity Church, attracting more than 100 eager singers.

Music was provided by the Banovallum Brass Band, which started the concert inside the Castle before continuing on into the church.

Visitors were then treated to traditional mulled wine and mince pies.

The lights in the church were turned off and visitors sung a range of popular Christmas carols whilst holding aloft a lighted candle.

Accompanying the carols were poetry readings from members of the Holy Trinity congregation telling the story of Christmas.

The evening was enjoyed by all and was the perfect way to start off the Christmas season.

The events list for 2014 has already been released and the programme of entertainment kicks off in April with an Easter Egg Trail from Friday 19 to Monday 21.

There will be a Knights and Princesses Day on Monday May 5 and a special Archaeology Uncovered event on Monday May 26.

The popular Living History Fortnight will also return.
