Horncastle’s Sir Joseph Banks Tribute Garden opens for the National Gardens Scheme this Sunday, August 9.

This delightful courtyard provides an oasis in the centre of town.

It features 70 different species of plants, many collected by Banks on his voyage with Captain Cook on the HMS Endeavour.

The garden will be open from 1.30pm to 4pm, with admission £2.50 for adults, children free.

The gravel path is level for ease of access and there will also be plants on sale.

The garden can be found on Bridge Street, with entrance through the Sir Joseph Banks Society shop.
