Local Tories announce key appointments

More than 60 members attended the annual meeting of the Louth and Horncastle Conservative Association.

Held at Louth Town Hall, the meeting coincided with the announcement that MP Sir Peter Tapsell would be standing down at the General Election in May 2015.

Sir Peter is the Father of the House of Commons and has represented Horncastle since 1966 - and the combined Louth and Horncastle constituency since 1997.

Elections took place at the annual meeting for the Association’s executive and management team.

Elected to the team were: John Chamberlain as chairman, William Grover as deputy chairman (political),Jane Woodcock as deputy chairman (membership and fundraising).

Other key appoints were David Andrews (treasurer) Daniel Turner (association officer and Joshua Smith (association officer).

Members listened to a talk by Rupert Matthews, one of the Conservative candidates for the East Midlands in the May European Parliamentary elections.
