Richard Avison had lived and worked in East Lindsey all his life and moved to Horncastle 25 years ago.

He was born and brought up in Tattershall and is a former pupil at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School.

Mr Avison is self employed and works with communities, bringing training, IT and business support to local people.

He has been awarded a contract to deliver online courses for older people - and those trying to regain employment.

He says he is passionate about the town’s heritage and is aware how important tourism is to the Wolds.

Mr Avison adds it is important to keep rural links with particular emphasis on agriculture, transport, education, care and health.

He highlights his extensive local knowledge and says he will ensure that the Horncastle Ward will have a strong voice that is heard at district level.

Mr Avison stresses his priorities will be keeping council tax low, a common sense approach to planning matters and working with colleagues and parish council to improve the quality of life for all residents.

During his campaign, he has highlighted the successes of East Lindsey’s Conservative Group - ranging from helping and supporting many of the town’s community clubs to boosting tourism and jobs.
