Town councillors in Horncastle have brought forward the start times of their monthly meetings in a bid to attract more members of the public.
The council is responsible for a number of key functions and is likely to take on even more duties amid county and district council cutbacks.
However, town councillors admit they are concerned more people don’t attend their meetings.
Coun Matthew Wilkinson said he thought the current start time of 7.30pm did deter some people.
There was a suggestion the council should meet at 6pm or 6.30pm but Coun Wilkinson said that would be difficult for councillors who worked away from Horncastle.
Mayor Coun Angela Birchall suggested 7pm and the new time will be introduced for next Tuesday’s meeting at Stanhope Hall.
