A County Councillor from Woodhall Spa has called for a “level playing field” to be introduced when it comes to handing out community grants.

Councillor Denis Hoyes says he believes it is unfair that he has £2,000 to cover the whole of his ward, which includes four East Lindsey District Councillors who receive £2,000 each.

Coun Hoyes said: “The current system doesn’t seem fair. I have a huge area to cover and there are so many worthy causes. I try to do the best I can.”

Coun Hoyes has awarded the following sums from his Big Society Fund - 2nd Woodhall Spa Brownies (£175), Woodhall Spa Coronation Hall Trust (£200), Woodhall Spa Scouts (£175), The Close Club (£200), Minting and Gautby Parish Council (£350), Wragby and District Swimming Club (£200), Wragby Disability Lincs (£150), Guiding and Scouting in Wragby (£200), Wragby Handbell Ringers (£150), Wragby and District Community Centre Group (£200).
