Horncastle looks set to get a long-awaited coach park - thanks to the support of the town’s Tesco supermarket.
Town clerk Gillian Mauger has confirmed Tesco is happy to allow coaches to drop people off and then park at the rear of the store.
She praised Tesco for their support but revealed the project would have to wait until a Tesco had completed a planned revamp of their store.
There have been claims the lack of a suitable coach park has deterred coach outings from visiting the town.
It is understood Tesco are planning internal and external improvements to their store as part of a significant investment.
A planning application has been submitted to East Lindsey District Council for an extension to provide a meat chiller, a bakery, a freezer, ramps, an ambient storage area and a new caged marshalling area. Alterations to existing redundant plenum/plant housing are also planned to provide customer toilets.
