Campaigners will step up their efforts to halt controversial cuts to Horncastle Library tomorrow (Thursday) night.

Horncastle resident Paul Stainthorp, a leading member of the Save Lincolnshire Libraries group, will address a public meeting at the Admiral Rodney Hotel (7pm).

There has been widespread opposition to county council proposals to cut Horncastle Library’s opening hours by 15 a week.

Tomorrow’s meeting has been arranged by Horncastle county councillor Bill Aron.

Coun Nick Worth, whose portfolio at County Hall includes libraries, will attend.

The meeting will be chaired by Horncastle’s mayor, Coun Fiona Martin.

In addition to Horncastle, libraries in Wragby and Coningsby could be closed.
