Parish councillors is Woodhall Spa have been urged to jazz up the village newsletter - because it does not look attractive enough.
The council produces a quarterly newsletter, promoting village organisations and events.
However, councillor Shirley Williams questioned how effective the newsletter was and whether people actually read it.
She suggested it would create more interest if it became a “glossier production” - designed better and printed on quality paper.
However, other councillors said that improving the quality would mean additional funding. Coun Williams suggested securing sponsorship - or selling advertising.
Coun Graham Keegan said he was totally opposed to advertising appearing in what was a council newsletter.
Coun Roger Webb said he believed the newsletter was popular and a recent article had led to a number of newcomers joining the Cottage Museum. He added: “Does it work? Yes.”
