Picture special: Phew! 40’s Festival is a sizzling success....

They came in their thousands - and they definitely weren’t disappointed.

Woodhall Spa’s 1940’s Festival was already established as one of the most successful events of its kind in the entire country.

And there can be no doubt about that particular fact after a record-busting Saturday and Sunday last weekend.

Organisers reckon more than 40,000 people packed into Woodhall Spa -double
the figure expected.

Little wonder then that Andy Hunter, chair of the organising committee, described the event as ‘truly fantastic.’

The streets, venues, cafes, parks, squares, bars, hotels, halls and restaurants were packed to the rafters all weekend long as young and
old celebrated life on the British Home Front in the one of Lincolnshire’s most beautiful villages.

The choice of over 80 free events, offered a range of food and drink stalls along with exciting living history exhibits and lots, lots more.

Throw in glorious weather and it was a recipe for a sizzling success.

Not that organisers are resting on their laurels. They are already studying all the feedback and are determined to ensure the 2017 event is event bigger and better.
