She’s already an award-winning author and now Abby Tartellin has launched an exciting new career - in the music industry.

Abby has teamed up with Fulletby-based singer-songwriter Michael Reeve to form ‘Girlboy’.

The pair first met 10 years ago at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Horncastle.

They have just released their first single ‘Jennifer Lawrence’ which Abby describes as an “indie rock floor-filler and a tongue in cheek satire of society’s view of women.”

The track has already being played on national radio and came top of a public vote to be featured as the ‘Fresh Fave’ on BBC6 presenter Tom Robinson’s website.

Abby said: “He (Robinson) gave us a great review. He said it was well made motoring pop with splendidly outrageous lyrics and velvet vocals. Brilliant!”

Abby, whose family home is near Horncastle, shot to fame in 2013 with the publication of her novel ‘Golden Boy.’

It was a world-wide hit and was published in nine languages and sold in 75 countries.

It led to a 25-date book tour across America and Canada and won several top awards.

The book’s six figure sale led to the London Evening Standard devoting a two-page spread to Abby.

Michael hasn’t enjoyed such a meteoric rise, although he appeared at several top festivals this summer.

The pair say they wrote the track together “spontaneously one night” at Matthew’s studio in 2013.

The video was directed by Abby and shot in East London.
