The award, handed out annually, is given to a resident for ‘compassion and service’.
The council is encouraging people to get in touch if they know someone who they think deserves recognition for their exceptional duties in the community.

Last year’s award went to long-serving town councillor John Hadlow, who was retiring from his role after eight years.

Coun Matthews said: “John has worked extremely hard, particularly in looking after the council’s properties.”
