A service of welcome was held for a new Reverend at St Leonard’s Church, South Ormsby last Sunday.

The Reverend Theresa McLaughlin was among 14 priests who were Ordained at Lincoln Cathedral on Saturday 28th June.

The service at St Leonard’s was her first in her new position.

Also assisting with the service were Rev Cheryl Hilliam from the South Ormsby Group of parishes and Rev Alan Robson, the Lincolnshire Agricultural Chaplin.

St Leonard’s is a beautiful church in a lovely setting and a fine place for her to give her first service, especially as it was adorned with wonderful flower arrangements.

It was very well attended, and at moments of quiet, the noise of cows from the neighbouring fields and the chiming of the church bells were easy to hear.

Afterwards, everyone was invited to The Old School for refreshments and to meet the new priest.
