Brenda Ivy Green (nee North) was born on July 21, 1933 in Holt Lane Horncastle, the eldest daughter to Sidney and Alice North.

Brenda attended school in Horncastle and upon leaving was employed by Lunn & Dodson.

On April 15, 1956, Brenda married Douglas Green.

She then went to work at the Children’s Home Holme Le.

When the family came along, five daughters, she continued to work part-time at Elsom’s Restaurant in the kitchen and as a cleaner in the Mace Shop.

Brenda was also the cleaner in the TSB Bank, which she did for 19 years before she retired.

Brenda passed away peacefully in her sleep, after a long illness bravely borne, at Louth County Hospital, aged 81.

The funeral took place at St Mary’s Church Horncastle, followed by burial in Horncastle Cemetery.

The service was conducted by the Rev Avril Ford.

Donations were collected for Manby Ward Louth and the total collected was £300.

The funeral was arranged and conducted by R H Turner and Son Horncastle.
