A restauranteur is calling on the public to nominate worthy residents to whom he can throw open his doors and provide a free Christmas dinner.
Phil Cantwell, owner of the Thai Dining Room in Horncastle, wants to make Christmas come early for up to 24 deserving locals and serve them a two course traditional Christmas feast with all the trimmings at the West Street restaurant on Tuesday December 16.
Now Phil is calling on Horncastle News readers to write to him and nominate someone who would benefit from being part of the event, or who deserves to be part of this special lunchtime meal.
He said: “It would be great to give something to people who do not have a massive family or are maybe elderly and have no family at all to spend Christmas with and this will help see them through the festive period.
“It could be someone who is not elderly but has overcome adversity or is particularly deserving of recognition.
“The reason I’m doing it is because as a business we take from our general public and we provide a service, but I just think sometimes it’s not all about making money, it’s about giving something back to the community and there are a lot of people who are alone at Christmas and if we can make someone happy then great. Horncastle has supported me for the last four years so it would be great to give something back.”
To nominate someone to be part of this special Christmas meal simply contact The Thai Dining Room via Facebook or write to Phil at The Thai Dining Room, West Street, Horncastle, LN9 5JE with 40 words on why the nominee deserves to be part of the Christmas lunch. You must include your name, address and contact number and the name, address and contact number of the person you are nominating. Alternatively email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Nominations must be returned to The Thai Dining Room by Saturday December 6 and nominees, along with the nominator who will be invited to the lunch must be available and able to attend on Tuesday December 16 for either 11.30pm or 2pm sitting.
