Nostalgia: Beavers and pigs in Horncastle

When the 1st Horncastle Beavers opened their home-made piggy banks, they found funds totalling up to £125 in one and two pence pieces.

The boys had made the papier mache pigs themselves.

They then went with their leader and helpers to Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital, where they were met by Miss Taylor and Sister Gooding, who received the money and some gifts for the children’s ward at the hospital.

They are pictured outside the hospital, before rounding off the afternoon with a trip to Tattershall for a picnic and games day.
