A new tea room will open in Horncastle this Saturday - and it really is a family affair.

Tanya Papworth will launch her new business venture at the former Henny’s tea room in St Lawrence Street - just off the town’s Market Place.

The three-month renovation programme has been undertaken by her father-in-law Neil Papworth.

And Tanya’s mum, Linda Lee, will be one of staff working behind the counter.

Tanya, who was born and brought up in Horncastle, says she can’t wait to throw open the doors .

She explained: “It’s been hard work for the last three months.

“We’ve completely re-furbished the place and hopefully people will see a big difference.

“I’ve had lots of support from family and friends and my father-in-law has been absolutely brilliant. We couldn’t have done it without him.”

If Tanya’s fac e looks familiar , then it’s no surprise.

She was manager of Henny’s which closed earlier this year.

She added: “I loved working here. I was here for 12 years but I was on maternity leave when it closed.

“I was absolutely gutted I didn’t know what I’d do but then someone suggested opening a tea room myself.”

Tanya is aware of the intense competition in Horncastle with several similar businesses already established. She added: “It’s going to be a challenge but it’s one I’m ready for.”

Tanya will offer a range of drinks and food, including homemade cakes
