Marie Curie Cancer Care is delighted to announce the launch of its new fundraising group in Horncastle and Woodhall Spa.

The group will raise funds locally to help support Marie Curie’s home nursing service across Lincolnshire. They will support Marie Curie’s major campaigns including the Great Daffodil Appeal and Blooming Great Tea Party.

The group was formed at a meeting held recently at the Admiral Rodney hotel in Horncastle.

The first chair of the group is Jo Duell while Bob Wayne, one of the town’s most familiar figures - will be secretary.

Apart from fundraising, members will help spread the word about the work Marie Curie nurses do.

They are also keen to bring more volunteers on board.

Dawn Broomfield, Community Fundraiser for Marie Curie Lincolnshire, said “We are so pleased that we now have such a fantastic group in the Horncastle and Woodhall Spa area.

“The group have some really exciting ideas and can’t wait to get started with their fundraising.”

If anyone is interested in helping to support or join the group, they can contact Dawn Broomfield on 01332 204 221.

Alternatively, they can email
