Louth and Horncastle MP Victoria Atkins has welcomed new figures showing 840 new apprenticeships were started in her constituency last year.
Ms Atkins says that overall 3,920 new apprenticeships have been started in Louth and Horncastle since 2010 – meaning more young people getting the skills they need for a successful and secure future.
She said the Government is committed to go even further over the next five years and deliver three million more apprenticeships nationally by 2020.
She said: “These figures are fantastic news - 3,920 new apprenticeships since 2010 means more of our young people in work, getting the skills they need to succeed and get on in life.
“Apprenticeships have been at the heart of our plan to deliver a more secure future for young people.
“By increasing access to apprenticeships, we are giving young people proper training. I congratulate those young people who have taken on apprenticeships and hope that this encouraging trend continues.”
