Local partnership show star quality at regional food and drink awards

Outstanding meat from pasture to plate and a local partnership has helped two businesses win a brace of food and drink awards.

Located just a mile and a half apart, Minting Park Farm in Gautby, produces the lamb, beef, mutton and pork, that The Sebastapol Inn in Minting then serves to a loyal and ever expanding customer base.

And now both businesses have been honoured at the East Midlands Food and drink Awards.

Minting Park Farm picked up the top prize for Best Regional Product, while The Sebastopol Inn was Highly Commended in both the Best Dining Pub and Best Newcomer categories.

Stephanie Camm, of Minting Park Farm said: “Obviously we are both delighted to receive these awards.

“It’s great to be recognised for all our hard work.

“Ourselves and The Sebastopol are only a mile 
and a half apart and it is really great for us both to work together.”

Both businesses overcame stiff competition from the best food and drink producers in the East Midlands, having already picked up the prize for the Lindsey area in each category on route to the final.

This is not the first award for Minting Park Farm’s meat, in the past five years the farm and shop has won more than 30 titles.

And since taking over the pub two years ago, David, Dianne and Nick Reed have been building a reputation as one of the best country pubs for hospitality as well as food in the area, already winning a Lincolnshire Toady Platinum Award for quality and service, and a Lincolnshire Life Taste of Excellence prize.

Stephanie added: “All the meat in the farm shop is born and reared on the farm and it means a lot to supply The Sebastopol, our local dining pub. Nick Reed is an excellent chef, who showcases our products wonderfully.

“We both want to thank all of our customers who voted for us in the awards as it was with their help and their votes that we won.”

The Sebastopol Inn is open for food Tuesday to Saturday 12noon to 2.30pm, and 6pm to 10pm, kitchen closes at 2pm and 9pm and Sunday, 12noon to 4pm, kitchen closes 3pm.
