Horncastle man, 19, dies following Metheringham road collision

A 19-year-old man from the Horncastle area has sadly been pronounced dead following a collision near Metheringham last night (Tuesday May 19).

The collision happened shortly before 6pm yesterday and involved two cars.

The deceased was driving a blue Volkswagen Polo, and the other vehicle involved was a grey Volkswagen Golf, driven by a 53-year-man from the Walcott area.

The Walcott man was taken to hospital, but did not receive any serious injuries.

The Horncastle man sadly died at the scene, and his name will be released by police when a formal identification has been made and family members have been informed.

The Senior Investigating Officer for the collision Sgt Dave Mitchell would like to speak to anyone who was travelling along the B1188 near Metheringham around 5.50pm and who may have seen either vehicle prior to the collision or the collision itself.
