Tetford doctor Yvonne Owen has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list.
Dr Owen is a general practitioner at The Wolds practice on West Road, Tetford.
She is also a leading and respected figure in the Horncastle based organisation LIVES, currently serving as Clinical Director.
Dr Owen was a leading figure in a recent fundraising walk undertaken by LIVES.
She is popular with patients in several Wolds villages covered by the practice, including Tetford and Belchford.
One patient told the News Dr Owen was ‘brilliant’ and ‘an inspiring figure.’
The patient added: “She really deserves the MBE for all the work she has done.”
Dr Owen graduated from the University of Nottingham with an MBBS in 1985.
