Sporting facilities in Woodhall Spa are set for a major boost with a £24,000 improvement programme at Coronation Hall.
The money will be spent relaying the all-weather playing surface at the floodlit outdoor sports court.
It will be marked out for five-a-side football and basketball.
There will also be new ‘recessed’ goals and it is hoped to introduce a token machine to make use of the already popular facility much easier.
Daphne Robinson, secretary of the Hall’s trustees, said work would start in March.
The court will be closed for a couple of weeks during the improvements, but Mrs Robinson said the new-look facility would be a welcome addition to the village.
She paid tribute to Isobel Clark, chairman of the trustees, for all the work she had put in to secure funding.
Mrs Robinson added: “It’s taken three years to get all the grants and the credit goes to Isobel.”
Funding has come from WREN, East Lindsey District Council and the National Lottery.
In addition, trustees secured £2,000 from organisers of the Woodhall Spa Country Show.
Mrs Robinson thanked all the organisations for their support and revealed more improvements were being planned to the car park and surrounding land.
