A Christmas concert for Horncastle’s senior citizens has been hailed as a major success.
Organised by the town’s Rotary Club, it was held at Banovallum School recently.
It attracted a bumper audience which included a number of people from the town’s various residential homes.
The entertainment featured a number of local groups including the Julie Dean School of Dancers, Whiskey Before Breakfast, The Young Stagers and the Horncastle Ukulele Group.
All the performers were a big hit and earned loud applause from an appreciative audience.
The show was compered by Sylvia Ravenhall who is President of the Rotary Club of Horncastle.
The concert proved to be particularly special as it was the 21st year it has been staged by the Rotary Club.
Spokesman Peter Foster said: “It was a very successful event.
“We were delighted to see so many people turn up and everyone appeared to enjoy themselves.
“All the performers were very good and we’d like to thank them for their efforts.
“It was much appreciated.”
In fact, the show was such a success quite a few people wanted to make bookings for the 2015 concert.
Needless to say, the town’s hard-working Rotatarians already have plans in hand.
