Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School recently handed out its Parents’ Association Challenge Awards to students.

Every year, the Parents’ Association invites students
to apply for a grant to assist them in undertaking a project during the holidays of educational value which shows their initiative.

The projects are independent of the school.

This year’s recipients are carrying out a wide variety of projects ranging from a study trip to the United Nations to an ambitious bid to visit all 92 Football League grounds - in just 92 days.

Other projects include a cultural visit to Paris and a visit to the Animal Ark Rescue Centre.

One student, Declan Bennett, has the honour of representing Great Britain and Northern Ireland in a number of swimming events at the World Transplant Games in Argentina this summer.
