It was a case of mixed emotions for principal Paul MacLeod as students at the Barnes Wallis Academy in Tattershall celebrated their GCSE results today (Thursday).
Mr MacLeod has retired after 14 years at the Academy which was formerly the Gartree Community School.
He said: “The students have worked really hard at GCSE level.
“They were a cracking year and I will miss them all.
“It is sad to be leaving and I wish the Academy all the best for the future.”
Mr MacLeod said results at the Academy were on a par with last year.
He was particularly pleased that seven students had gained ten passes - including English and Maths.
A further eight students secured nine GCSE’s.
Student Sarah Dickson said she was delighted with her results and admitted everyone at the Academy would miss Mr MacLeod.
