Police have responded to an emergency medical incident in Louth this evening, Monday April 11.
Officers initially attended a property in Stewton Lane following reports of a domestic incident.
Eyewitnesses had reported that armed police were on the scene but Chief Inspector Jim Tyner told this newspaper that armed officers were not deployed and has since confirmed that the initial call to a domestic incident turned out to be a medical emergency.
He said Louth police officers were able to assist with the incident and no offences were committed.
An eyewitness account from a resident said: “At around 7.15pm a response car, riot van and two patrol cars arrived, at speed with noise and lights.
“The beat cops are at a house near the corner of Stewton Lane and Wood Lane.
“For approx 15 mins they cordoned the road off.”
