Raccoon on the loose in Tattershall

Police in Tattershall are investigating a suspicious incident which saw a raccoon and various birds released.

The incident happened on either December 24 or 25 when offenders went onto a private property in Tattershall.

They opened up cages which allowed birds to fly away and also opened a raccoon enclosure.

It’s not clear whether the raccoon was stolen or released but police believe it could still be in the Tattershall area.

Police say the raccoon - a male - will run away if cornered but have warned that if frightened, it might try to bite.
