Police issue rogue traders warning

Horncastle Police are reporting that two persons in the area attempted to withdraw large amounts of money to pay for work allegedly done or work that is intended to be done.

Both persons were elderly and on one occasion the person was taken to the bank to withdraw the money.

This type of offence is known under the name Operation Liberal which is run in conjunction with trading standards.

Police find it is the elderly population that are targeted by rogue traders committing these types of offences.

The male responsible is described as 6ft tall, young, thing and with dark olive skin and dark hair.

In one incident a vehicle, which was described as an X-registered Ford Transit white tipper was seen.

The incidents occurred at Horncastle and Haltham but it is known these criminals can travel large distances to target their next victim.

The incident number is 215 of 17/12/13.
