Police campaign to combat cycle theft

Police in Horncastle are gearing up to help reduce the number of cycle thefts.

The town’s Neighbourhood Police Team is organising a series of sessions to give cyclists the chance to improve security and have their bikes ‘security marked’.

The sessions - organised by PCSO Nigel Wass - are part of a campaign being run by Lincolnshire Police to combat thefts.

Cyclists will be encouraged to get their bikes security marked while a number of security packs will be available.

PCSO Wass has organised three events in Horncastle and Woodhall Spa.

This Saturday (April 12), the mobile Police Station will be parked at the Tesco car park on Watermill Road, Horncastle, between 10am and 2pm.

On Thursday April 10, PCSO Wass will be on high-visibility cycle patrol along the Spa Trail between Horncastle and Woodhall Spa from 12 noon until 4pm. He will tweet his exact location.

On Thursday April 17 - the mobile Police Station will again be parked at the Tesco car park on Watermill Road. between 10am and 2pm.
