Police believe their tough new anti drink-drive campaign did get the message across - even though there were more than 50 arrests.

The operation was launched on December 1 and rolled out across the county.

By last Friday, 54 motorists had been charged - three of them following incidents in the Horncastle News area.

Vladimiris Klavins was stopped in Spilsby Road, Horncastle.

Robert Gareth Smith was ‘caught’ in Dogdyke Road, Coningsby and Rebecca Jody Goodwin in Tumby Road, Coningsby,

All the alleged offenders were ‘named and shamed’ by police who warned the crackdown would continue over the New Year.

In Christmas 2012, 100 people were arrested for drink driving and 119 a year earlier.
