Jail for prolific burglar


A sneak-in burglar who targeted a string of businesses in Skegness and Coningsby has been jailed for 18 months.

Darren O’Mahoney, 29, admitted carrying out a “spree” of six burglaries when he appeared at Lincoln Crown Court.

The offences happened during a four month period between August Bank Holiday and Boxing Day.

Andrew Scott, prosecuting, said the first burglary on August 28, O’Mahoney admitted stealing £80 from the Coningsby Pet and Aquatic Store.

O’Mahoney pleaded guilty to stealing a wallet and its contents from the clubhouse at Richmond Holiday Camp on September 27.

He also admitted stealing £100 from Skegness Working Men’s Club on November 12 and a handbag from the Sun Hotel in North Parade, Skegness, on December 16. Over the Christmas period O’Mahoney pleaded guilty to stealing £50 from the Lucky Strike crazy golf course and £160 from the Embassy Centre on Boxing Day.

O’Mahoney pleaded guilty to six charges of burglary between 28 August and 26 December last year.
