A 56-year-old Horncastle man has been banned from driving after driving home with more than double the legally permitted level of alcohol in his body.
Leslie Davison of Jobson Road, admitted driving with excess alcohol on July 24, when he appeared at Skegness Magistrates’ Court.
Daniel Pietryka, prosecuting, said Davison was stopped by police after being seen driving erratically in his Vauxhall Tigra at 6.30pm on the A 153 at Dalderby.
He told officers he had been to a birthday party and was driving home.
Mitigating, Andrew Goldsborough said Davison had received distressing news about a family member and had drunk more at the party because of that news.
Davison was disqualified from driving for 20 months but was offered the drink drivers’ rehabilitation course, which would reduce the period of disqualification by 20 weeks.
He was also fined £110 and ordered to pay £255 in costs and charges.
