Police in Horncastle have arrested and bailed an individual pending further inquiries into vandalism at the town’s Banovallum School.

No further details have been announced at this stage.

Police say they would like to thank the public for their support in the incident.

They issued an appeal after youths were spotted in the school grounds at night two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, officers are stepping up patrols in Sellwood Gardens after reports of suspicious activity in the area.

There have also been complaints that cars parking at Stanhope Hall have been blocking important access to Sellwood Gardens.

Extra patrols are also continuing along Bowl Alley Lane in a bid to encourage better parking.

Local schools and residents have raised a number of concerns about parking - and the safety of pupils.

There was a site meeting between the police, county councillors and Highways officers earlier this week.

Police have renewed their appeal to motorists to slow down in bad weather, especially on untreated minor roads.
