The next cliffside group meeting is on Monday, April 11 at Blyton Village Hall starting at 7.30pm when the speaker will be TV gardener Doug Stewart who will be pondering ‘Why plants talk to insects and why pumpkins can’t fly?
Admission is £4 by ticket in advance or on the door. The competition, open to all, is for a garden on a plate (maximum 10” diameter).

Hide AdLaughton WI plans to hold a party in June to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. More details nearer the time. Four members are to attend the spring council meeting at Skegness on March 9. Names were taken of those interested in going to ‘Oklahoma’ at The Trinity Centre on April 29. The first walk and lunch of the year will be on Monday, March 2, starting from Blyton ice cream parlour at 11.15am. Next month is Laughton WI’s annual meeting and an appeal was made for a new president or joint-president.
