You might not see as many of them out on the roads as you used to but they nevertheless provide a vital service for our communities.
We are of course talking about Lolly-Pop men...and women.
And local Salvation Army member John Franklin of Wragby is the new school crossing man for the busy A158 road into the village adjacent to the large estate of Newton Close.
This is the first Lolly-Pop man the village has had for four years and is sponsored by the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership.
