Fundraisers at the annual Horncastle Farmers’ Charity Ball certainly ploughed a winning furrow.

They recently handed over cheques to a number of charities - many with local links - as the proceeds from the ball.

It was held at the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa earlier this year.

The proceeds were presented to representatives of the charities at a special ceremony held at the Petwood Hotel recently.

The charities to benefit include Carers UK, the Getaway Club, Headway, LIVES, Riding for the Disabled and the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.

Representatives from the charities attended the presentation and are pictured above with the Farmers Ball committee members.

Additional fundraising was contributed by Barclays Bank as part of their ”Fund Match” scheme.

Stuart Russell, chair of the Farmers Ball, said: “It was a great success. We’re delighted to be able to help so many worthy causes.”

Plans are already underway for next year.
