People in East Lindsey are being reminded to have their chimneys swept regularly after a fire in Holbeck on Sunday night.

Firefighters from Horncastle were called to a house in Salmonby Road where a build-up of soot led to it coming alight shortly after 8.15pm.

The crew used specialist gear to put out the fire and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue is asking people to prevent chimney fires by having them swept on a regular basis to remove the build-up of soot and deposits.
