Residents in Bardney are toasting the success of a new business - and it really is the ’plaice’ to be.
Sunny’s Plaice - a fish and chip shop and restaurant - was officially opened on Monday by Councillor Charles Shaw, the chairman of Bardney Parish Council.
Coun Shaw said he was delighted a major new business had come to Bardney.
He said: “It’s new jobs, new investment and a welcome boost to the range of facilities we have to offer.”
Sunny’s already operates successfully in Sleaford and Bourne and Coun Shaw said it was something of a coup attracting the chain to Bardney.
He added: “Economic development through successful local businesses like ‘Sunny’s Plaice’ contributes so much to the local economy and in the case of Bardney recognises the importance of our township as one of the key communities in the outer Lincoln ring of towns and villages.
“Bardney is emerging as the place to be and the confidence of this successful Lincolnshire chain in opening their next outlet can only be followed by more business and confidence in the community.”
The business is based in the former Gypsy Queen pub.
