Fifteen existing jobs are safe and five new posts could be created with the building of the new Lincolnshire Co-operative store in Wragby.

That was the message from Lincolnshire Co-op spokesman Matt Wilkinson who attended the annual Wragby Parish Meeting.

He provided plans showing the layout and position of the new Wragby outlet which is due to open next spring.

The new building will be situated off Lincoln Road on the site of White Lion farm. It will be 50% bigger than the existing store with 17 designated parking bays.

Mr Wilkinson said the current 15 staff places were secure and five other posts could be added. Work is due start in October.

The Co-op will retain the existing building which may be leased out.
