Network at pioneering Horncastle technology centre

The Chairman of Lincolnshire County Council, Coun Bill Aron, has invited businesses from across Lincolnshire to attend a networking event on Thursday September 11 and see some of Horncastle Technology Hub’s latest equipment in action.

The event will give county businesses the chance to experience new technology including a UV printer which prints on materials including wood, glass and metal, a 3D printer, laser cutter, and motion sensor cameras.

There will also be a presentation by Trevor Ollson, who has used equipment at the Horncastle Technology Hub to create a ‘gearbox’ for the Raspberry Pi. This ground breaking piece of technology has the potential to improve thousands of people’s experience of using the tiny computer.

Coun Aron said, “This event is a great opportunity for businesses to get together and network, as well as finding out more about what technology hubs have to offer.

“We’re already seeing some exciting new developments as a result of people being able to try out the latest equipment at the hubs.

“They are providing invaluable support to small businesses which form the backbone of our economy.”
