East Lindsey District Council has given the thumbs up for 80 new homes to be built on the edge of Horncastle.
At an East Lindsey planning committee meeting earlier today (Thursday), councillors unanimously approved the outline application submitted by David Lock Associates on behalf of a Lincolnshire firm, Larkfleet Homes for a site off Louth Road.
Backing the approval recommendation of officers, Coun Fiona Martin (Horncastle) said: “We want the right developments in the right place in Horncastle - and this fits the bill.”
Both she and Coun Ed Mossop praised the pre-decision consultation undertaken with the community.
The meeting heard that the proposed development, which is located within walking distance of the town centre, will be served by a footway/cycleway that will run alongside Louth Road.
