BREAKING NEWS: Canadian Lancaster delayed on journey to RAF Coningsby

The departure of Canadian Avro Lancaster bomber, previously scheduled to fly to the UK yesterday (Monday) morning for a six-week tour, has been pushed back to today (Tuesday) because of engine problems.

One of the bomber’s engines would not fire up following a brief ceremony held in Hamilton, Ontario, delaying the plane’s departure.

Once the bomber eventually arrives on Friday, it will land at RAF Coningsby where it will join the Lancaster based there.

The pair are the only other flight-worthy Lancasters in the world and will embark on a nation-wide tour.
