Breaking News: 970 homes plan for Louth is dismissed by planning inspector

A planning application for 970 homes off Legbourne Road in Louth has been dismissed by a Planning Inspector.

The applicant, AR and MA Pridgeon and Gladman Developments Ltd appealed the decision taken by East Lindsey District Council to refuse the application but the Secretary of State and the planning inspector judged the Council’s decision on the application to be appropriate.

Portfolio Holder for planning at the Council, Coun Richard Fry, said: “I am pleased the planning inspector has listened to the concerns raised by this council and local residents in respect of the proposed development.

“We firmly believed that the proposal as submitted wasn’t right for Louth and are pleased the inspector found that it would have had a significant impact on the integrity, role and character of the town.”
