Accountancy firm raises thousands

In September, staff at all 11 offices of Duncan and Toplis took part in a variety of activities in support of a host of good causes.

Colleagues at the Boston office helped kick off proceedings by assisting Sarah Clyde, director at Duncan and Toplis, organise an annual charity golf day for the Boston and District Macmillan Cancer Support, for which she is the treasurer.

The event raised a total of £2,610.45 and was topped up by £290 when teams at the Stamford and Loughborough offices held Macmillan coffee mornings for team members and clients.

Later in the month, the Boston team joined their colleagues from across the firm in taking part in Jeans for Genes Day.

This saw staff don jeans in support of the Genetic Disorders UK campaign, raising £300 for the charity.

Away from Boston, the month also saw the following fundraisers: bake off competitions for young suicide prevention charity Papyrus and the British Heart Foundation, an annual charity rounders match for The Brain Tumour Charity, and a raffle and quiz for the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.

Director and head of marketing at Duncan and Toplis Tom Hindmarch said: “I am so impressed with the efforts of all of my colleagues and am extremely proud that we have raised so much for so many worthy causes.

“However, it doesn’t stop there. We are hoping to raise even more through our ongoing office bake off competitions, as well as various other activities we have planned throughout the rest of the year.”

The firm also taking part in Wear It Pink day on last Friday in aid of Breast Cancer Now and will support Christmas Jumper Day on Friday, December 16, to raise money for Save the Children.
