Coningsby Helping Hands group recently purchased a new electric scooter for 90 year old Eric Knowles from Coningsby.

“Mr Knowles is a very active gentleman still helping out once a week at the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight,” said Debbie Money, chairman of Coningsby Helping Hands.

“His knowledge of the Lancaster is phenomenal.

“This scooter will give him the independence he so enjoys.”

Coningsby Helping Hands is a registered charity which loans out medical equipment to people in the parishes of Coningsby and Tattershall.

The charity has been running for 36 years and they rely on fundraising and donations.

In 2013, the group was presented with the Queens award for voluntary service .
